A Prayer for Peace without Borders

Finding Inner Peace

I wander.  I am lost.  I hunger but I don’t know what for.

I thirst but can’t quench that wretched dryness.

I am empty and uncertain and worn by life.

I come to a fork in the road; a trickster is there to mislead me.

How do I know which way to go?  You are the Only One Who knows the true path, Father.

I was there.  I lost my way.  I fell in the pit.  I panicked.  My soul shattered into dust.

“Oh Lord,” I cried, “save me.”  And You did.

Often we stumble and fall.

Many times we panic when challenged by life’s inevitable,

but usually unexpected problems.

It is then we can:

1.  Ban all evil spirits from our “conversation” with God

  1. Ask God to “still” our mind

and lift us above our earthy limitations and panic

  1. Open our hearts and minds

4,  Open our mouths

  1. Ask God to help us.

  1. Wait on God.

If we are silent and patient, God will answer,

Usually not in a voice but a “knowing”

(One woman describes this as her “muse” experience.)

Glory to The Father and to the Son and the Holy Spirit.   As it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever.

Amen.

Psalm 5, thought to be a Psalm of David:

“To my words give ear, Oh, Lord, give heed to my groaning.

Attend to the sound of my cries, my King and my God.

“It is You whom I invoke, O Lord.  In the morning,” afternoon and evening You hear me.

In the morning, afternoon and evening “I offer You my prayer, watching and waiting”

for You to lift me above my earthly limitations and imaginations and reservations.”

(My daily prayer is, “Teach me Your Ways, Lord, let me discern Your Will and act upon it.  Then fortify me.)

“Lead me, Lord, in Your Justice and Courage because of those who lie in wait.

Make clear Your Way before me.”

All of us You protect shall be glad and ring out our joy and praise Your Holy Name.

It is You who bless the just people, Lord.

Protect us as a shield and

We shall praise Your Name forever.
